Taro JAM ( A Project For AETAS )
Background and Rationale
Taro Jam brings a distinct flavor to the world of spreads and sauces. Its smooth, creamy texture and softly sweet flavor with nuttiness provide a memorable experience for people searching for something out of the ordinary. Customers may experiment with an uncommon flavor and widen their culinary horizons by including taro into a jam.
Filipinos are well-known for their fondness for sweets. This is demonstrated by the abundance of delicacies available in the market, one of which is jam. There are many types of Jam available in the market, such as Strawberry Jam, Ube Jam, and so on, but there are no Colocasia esculenta or Taro Jam, which is why the group decided to provide this new taste to the market. Taro is a root vegetable that has more fiber than potatoes. It is said to be one among the first plants grown in human history. This adds to the uniqueness and healthfulness of our Taro Jam. These are delicious snacks that even children will enjoy.
Unprocessed taro roots will be employed as a component of jam that will help the body, according to Jam Spread. Taro roots are the Taro Plant's fruit. Taro roots are taken around 200 days after planting, when the leaves begin to yellow and die. Taro roots, like sweet potatoes, should be lifted before the first frost in October. Taro is said to have originated in Southeast Asia or Southern Asia. It is said to be one of the first crops to be domesticated, with many centers of domestication, one of which is located in New Guinea. Taro was transported by early Pacific voyagers throughout the Pacific.
To ensure customer acceptability and pleasure, correct quantities of important ingredients such as fruits (Taro), lemon, and sugar are necessary in jam manufacture. The use of fruit in jam making not only adds flavor to the jam but also highlights the color of the fruit. Color is still the most important factor in attracting customers to buy jam items.
